Samuel Vance II

Samuel L. Vance II, a native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, is a notable alumnus of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology in 2003. He was initiated into the Beta Theta Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., where he served as Chapter President and actively participated in various committees.
With a passion for funeral service, Samuel pursued his education at the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service, earning an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service in 2004. He gained valuable experience working with renowned funeral homes in Texas before returning to Arkansas.
In 2006, at the age of 26, Samuel took a bold step as an entrepreneur and established his ventures under Vance Investments of Arkansas, Inc. As President/CEO, he owns several businesses, including Samuel L. Vance & Sons Funeral Directors, Vance Mortuary Transport and Coach Livery, Vance Mortuary Trade Services, Vance Properties Management, Professional Male Apparel, and Greekblazers.com.
Samuel's dedication to excellence in funeral service is evident through his extensive experience and expertise. He is a Licensed Embalmer and Funeral Director in Arkansas, holding embalming contracts for nine funeral homes across the state. His skill as an Embalmer's Embalmer is well-known, and he embalms a substantial number of cases each year.
Beyond his professional achievements, Samuel's commitment to community service is commendable. He achieved the prestigious Eagle Scout Rank in the Boy Scouts of America, a distinction earned by less than 4% of all scouts and even fewer African Americans. He actively serves on the board for the Independent Arkansas Funeral Director and Mortician Association and is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Epsilon Nu Delta Mortuary Fraternity, Inc.
Samuel's dedication to his faith, family, and community is evident through his role as a Trustee at First Baptist Church S.A Jones in North Little Rock, AR. He has received numerous accolades, including the Business of The Year award from the Malvern/Hot Spring County Chamber of Commerce in 2021, and the Empowering Generation Award from Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Southwestern Region in 2022. He has also been featured in the Arkansas 501 Life Magazine.
