Benjamin L. Pruitt, Sr.
1959
Benjamin L. Pruitt Sr. is a distinguished music educator and musician. He served as the Director of Office of Fine Arts Education for Detroit Public Schools. With extensive experience, Pruitt has directed award-winning bands at various schools. His ensembles received recognition locally and nationally for their excellence, and he was also a talented saxophonist who led his own jazz orchestra. Pruitt has been honored with awards, including "Teacher of the Year," (3x) and has influenced many successful musicians and educators. Additionally, he was actively involved in Detroit's music community and served as Minister of Music at several churches. Pruitt's achievements include organizing and leading the Detroit Public Schools All City High School Marching Band, which appeared in prestigious events. Upon his passing, his Jazz collection, worth thousands of dollars, was donated to the UAPB Music Department.

Bro. Choca Flood is professionally & Fraternally known as, DJ "Deja Blu". He began scratching and mixing at the early age of 13 and was an established and accomplished DJ by the age of 17; he later started spinning at the hottest clubs in Arkansas. His reputation grew quickly as the "Premier DJ of Arkansas". He has brought in many sold out events, crowds, and opportunities for local businesses and musicians alike. Today, he can be seen on stage with some of the world's biggest acts such as R&B Icon Erykah Badu, Hip-Hop Megastar Jeezy, Rap Star Kevin Gates, R&B Sensation Carl Thomas and touring for Diamond Award-Winning Artist Nelly, among others, showcasing his impressive skills to audiences worldwide.
